Ebara Promotes Low-carbon Development of Shell Petrochemical Industry

Recently, two special Ebara lithium bromide absorption chillers for Petrochemical ordered by Shell MDS of Malaysia have been delivered successfully. Ebara has won the trust of global petrochemical enterprises with more than 100 years of technical accumulation and more than 1000 cases experience, and started a new journey of high-quality development for the global petrochemical industry.

Shell's natural gas liquefaction technology (GTL) is to convert clean energy natural gas into high-quality liquid products, such as transportation fuel, engine oil, detergent, etc. As early as 1993, Shell founded the world's first commercial GTL plant - Shell MDS in Bintulu, Malaysia. So far, it has nearly 30 years' operation history, and its products are supplied to more than 50 countries around the world.

Two outdoor high protection absorption chillers supplied by Ebara are recovering the waste heat from the process and providing chilled water for the production process. Waste heat recovering can reduce energy consumption, save production costs and enhance market competitiveness. The recoverable waste heat is 59,900MW / year which can save coal 7,360t / year and reduce CO₂ 19,000t / year.

The whole process including technical selection, drawing, suppliers, raw materials, manufacturing,delivered documents has passed the supervision of General Standard Technical Service Co., Ltd. (SGS). Before leaving the factory, the whole unit has passed the DOSH( Department of Occupational Safety and Health) certification and the ASME certification.
